Hush was formed in 1987 with original members Nick Frances-guitar, Mike Heptner-bass guitar, Dana Leatherwood- lead guitar/Keyboards and Troy Gotschall-drums. The band gained local notoriety by finishing 2nd place in the 1987 Battle of the bands held in Lodi CA. They continued to play and write music during the late 80’s at many of the local Rock and Roll venues. Most notably performing regularly at the pier in Downtown Stockton for the Catfish Cafe’s floating restaurant. Other great venues included McFly's, Stockton Rocks, EQ’s, Gino’s, The Brick Works, Carlos Murphy’s, Tree Frog Tavern and much more. Rick Byers-lead guitar joined the band in 1991 after Dana moved on to another project. The band played its last show in 1995 at Rocko’s in Manteca when guitarist and vocalist Nick Frances moved to Florida. Now after 22 years original members Mike, Rick, and Troy have teamed up with a new guitar, keyboard, drummer and vocalist David Tanner who is also currently music director for Saint Mary’s High School in Stockton. The new foursome has brought back many of the original songs from the 80’s set list and updated it with some 90’s, 2000’s and even a couple of current songs.
